Software bugs that annoy me
- Ubuntu 26.04
- When I use Ubuntu's file browser to transfer a large file from my laptop to my network file server over wifi, the file almost always gets corrupted. For several years now, I've had to rely upon a Python script to upload instead of just using the file browser.
- Sometimes waking from suspended mode is instantaneous, but it often takes what feels like a minute.
- When I add 8.8.8.8 to the DNS servers under the IPv4 settings for my home wifi ssid, I still can't reliably browse to my home web server. I have to resort to using the local IP address.
- Once or twice a day, my Linux laptop gives me a useless alert that it has detected my printer, and I have to manually dismiss the alert.
- Discord
- Discord tends to install updates every few days, but often the process fails on Ubuntu, and then I'm forced to uninstall it and reinstall it.
